Wednesday, July 29th - My 30th Birthday (in Kauai)!!!

They say it's your birthday.....it's my birthday too!

This is how I woke up on my 30th birthday...to a card and coffee from my husband!

Plus, he hooked me up with a Chocolate Macadamia Nut Coconut Eclair!

Absolutely TO DIE FOR!!!
We headed out to the lanai and enjoyed some white ginger...

and orchids!
Rich enjoying breakfast and the peace and quiet of the B&B!
Next up...present time!

Like my wonderful husband was not enough!

I received a Bailey, Banks and Biddle box and knew it was going to be good!

Opening away...
OMG...gorgeous. A diamond necklace that has 30 stones!
So perfect!!!!
After breakfast and present time...we headed to Nawiliwili to fish and hang out! It was my day, so I chose to relax and sunbathe while Rich fished!
My sexy husband!
Absolute perfection!!!
I was just amazed by the airplanes...crazy!
...and a "jig thing" that a nice guy gave to Rich to catch some Jacks.
After the day out...we headed back and got ready.

Here I am in everything from Rich...Dress, Necklace, Earrings, Shoes!

WOW! I've got a good man!

Cocktail time!

Next up...Rich! The first stop was "The Eastside"...perfect for us.

Haha!

The we got to dinner at WAHOOO!

Words can not describe how amazing dinner was!

The birthday kiss...
...and the happy couple!

What a fantastic BIRTHDAY...it was absolutely fantastic! I loved every minute of it!

Tuesday, July 28th - Secret Day!

Tuesday...I like to refer to as "Secret Day"...because we didn't take many pictures at all. Rich headed out fishing in the morning and we did an afternoon hike to Secret Lava Pools...but besides that...I'm keeping Tuesday a Secret...plus, I don't have any pictures to detail what we did.
Here is a picture of our room at the B&B!
The pool...and grounds!
The outside of the house...
And a picture of the table where we had breakfast served to us every morning!
Next up...Birthday time!

Monday, July 27th - Grotto Time!

Per my grandma's suggestion...Rich and I headed out to the Fern Grotto on Monday and were not disappointed. It was amazing...many changes have been made since recent hurricanes, but the grotto is still amazing!
Here are Rich and I waiting to get on the boat tour to the grotto...the boat had live hawaiian music and hula lessons...so much fun!
We arrived at the Grotto...and were amazed by the beauty.
I look a little "concerned" here!

One of the beautiful flowers along the way...
...and another! Absolutely breathtaking!
Rich and I at the Grotto.
The Grotto in all it's glory....with the mini waterfall down the center.
The "ring" shot at the Grotto!
Headed back on the boat...chillin'!
...and me napping!
After our tour of the Grotto....we did some more sight seeing.
Here I am above the Wailua River....
After our day of adventure...we cleaned up and went to look at the Hanalei Lighthouse and watch the sunset.
...You can barely see the lighthouse in the distance...which is also a Bird preserve.
Self-portrait #15!
...Waiting for the sun to set!
The approach of sunset...kind of looks like a bikini top...or at least that is what we thought!

More sunset...
...and another...
...and Rich and I enjoying sunset together!
It was such an amazing day...so much beauty on the island of Kauai!!!

Still to come...Stacie's 30th birthday and more!

Sunday, July 26th - Moving on....

Sunday meant...we left our 1st home on the island, The Bali Hai Resort and moved on to our quaint B&B.

We couldn't pass up a picture of me with the "dolphins"...as that is the animal that Rich thinks I am most like.

Smart...nice...likes to swim!
haha! Go Tri-Delta!
After we headed out, we decided to head to Poipu (Southside) and check out some of the sights!

Here is Rich at lunch in Poipu...it was this awesome little marketplace where I ate my 4th fish tacos of the trip...maybe 5th.
Next up, a drive through the Tree Tunnel and a trip to Spouting Horn...

Here is Rich in a "non-action" shot!

The "Spouting" at Spouting Horn...
...and a Married Couples shot!
We took one for a couple, and they took ours.
How sweet?!?!
On our way out of Poipu, we found this old Sugar Cannery....pretty neat!
Rich at the Menehune Pond...it's a old tail about "little" people who build this pond to trap fish for the king. Pretty cool story and neat pond...who knows where the truth lies...but the folklore in Kauai is amazing!
Me taking in the sights at the Menehune Pond...off to the left is the river we kayaked in earlier in the week.
After a long day...we ended up at Pizzeta in Kapaa' for some pizza, stuffed mushrooms and vino. What a great day!

It's so much fun to relive the trip...and we still have 4 more days to go!

Saturday, July 25th - Low key!

Our final day in Princeville started with an awesome breakfast at Calypso....Rich had a breakfast burrito and I had the best mahi mahi tropical eggs benedict...still dreaming about it!

Up next was a relaxing trip to the beach (or beaches)...while I read, Rich fished.

Just like in Cabo...he should not leave me alone...I had a dog pee on me while peacefully reading my book.

Neat, real neat!!!

No luck with the fishing...but doesn't he look GREAT!
After our day at the beach...we headed back to the condo and lounged at the pool....Rich cooked up some Ono (Wahoo) on the BBQ and we hung out.

Later that night...we spent our final evening at the Hanalei Cafe and listened to some live music and relaxed...we even saw Pierce Brosnan.

Stay tuned...I'm on a roll!

Friday, July 24th - Pub Crawl

Friday was FUN DAY (not like everyday wasn't...but this one in particular). The weather had cleared up and we were off to explore more of the island...

We went to the Kapaa' Stream and then on the Ho'opi'i Fall Hike...it was awesome. You could definitely tell that the stream and falls were in full force from the Monsoon the day before. The water was a little dirty with all the mud.

The beginning of the hike...
Rich at the top of the falls...
Me in the middle of the stream....in my fancy hiking outfit. It was so humid that you had to wear your swimsuit at all times, in case you were able to swim.
After our hike and adventure...we headed back to the pool for a relaxing afternoon before preparing for our 6 stop pub crawl.

We went to...
Tropical Taco (1)
Bacolli (2)
Hanalei Cafe (3)
Calypso (4)
Hanalei Dolphin (5)
and Foodland (6)!

No pictures from the adventure...but we do have some from the aftermath!

Taquitos and Bagel Bites...YUMMY!
Yep, my husband slaving away in the kitchen...AGAIN!
More to come...
