Taking our relationship to the NEXT LEVEL!

A little pre-warning...I've been nagging Rich that I'm ready to take our relationship to the next level for a bit now....you ask what could that be...you are married, right? you have a home? you started your own business?

OH MY GOD...you figured it out....LITTLE MEYER BABIES, right?

NOPE, not that...it was Adventure Date Night and we did TRAPEZE at Emerald City Trapeze! If you have never heard about this...it is a MUST do! It's a one-stop adventure shop...where you get to be in the circle! I totally should have worn a leotard per O'Hara's recommendation! NEXT TIME...and we will have a group to go!!!

Here's a little clip of the pre-convo in the car...are we really doing this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBdAEmSlHx8

Now that you've seen the fear...here is a little snap-shot into the adventure....the pictures are pretty dark, so you might need to click on them to see!

Step 1: Get Harnessed in and climb the scary ladder!Step 2: Make it to the platform and change your harness!

Step 3: Ready, Hep...and you are FLYING!
Step 4: Knees up and hang upside down time!
Step 5: A back-flip release!!!

An AMAZING Adventure! The final performance is "THE CATCH"...where you let go and have someone on the other side catch you! We had to nail Steps 1-5 before we could do this...and I'm happy to report that we both nailed the catch!

Check out Rich in ACTION!

The night did end with a little "Carrie Bradshaw" moment...my shoes were swapped with someone elses....bummer!

Who wants to give it a try with us? Pretty sure today will be a little less adventurous in the Meyer Household...but it will involve a little B-ball watching (Dawgs v. Cougs), Carnitas cooking, touch-up painting, and all the fun that we usually have! Off to take my Richie Coffee in Bed...because that is the type of wife I am!
GIVEN..you already knew that!

Impromptu Date Night...

It was Friday after a LONG, BUSY week...and a couple in Bothell had a few choices to make
...Dine In, Dine Out?
...Go to a Movie, Rent a Movie?

How ever were they to decide? Flip a coin? Ask the dog? Play a trivia game? Well, turns out they played a trivia game? Question right=Dine Out, Question wrong=Dine In.

Being the smart and savvy couple they are...the got the question right and then were faced with an even more difficult choice...where were they going to go?

They decided to stay local and try out a new restaurant they had heard good things about, but had never tried...VIVENDO in Country Village was there final destination!

Wondering if the Restaurant held what the couple was looking for, they decided to start off with a cocktail and ponder the menu...he with a Manhattan, her with a French 75!

The menu looked awesome, the ambience was great and there unclear night turned into the perfect impromptu dinning experience!

A little picture of his meal....And then hers...

The food was DELICIOUS and the couple was so thankful to have the past stressful week in their past and to have a little time together...

This old fashioned light post just screamed "PHOTO-OP"...gosh, she is a lucky gal!
Next up was a night cap at home that one of his friends had shared with the couple...Rye, Amaretto, bitters and Orange....
Cheers to an AWESOME date night!
Watch out...Saturday morning started off top notch for the couple too! Pancakes and together time! Lucky couple...
Plus, tonight is ADVENTURE DATE NIGHT...check it out tomorrow for all the details of how our couple enjoyed or were scared out of their minds!!!

Chief Seattle

I came across this speech while hanging out with some friends, shooting the breeze over some great libations...I read the speech aloud to those in the "crowd", what an experience. Here is the speech in its entirely; quite a powerful piece if you ask me.

" We heard from your President back in Washington that he wants to buy our land but how can you buy and sell the sky, the land, the idea is strange to us. Every shiny pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every meadow are all holy in the remembrance of my people. We are part of the earth and it is part of us. The perfumed flowers these are our sisters, the bear, the deer, the eagle, these are our brothers. Each ghostly reflection in the clear waters of the lake talk of the experience and memories of my people. The waters murmur with the voice of my grandfather's father. The rivers, these our brothers, they carry our canoes and feed our children. If you buy our land, know that the air is precious to us, that the air shares its spirit with all the life its supports. The wind that gave my great grandfather his first breath, also received his last sigh. This we know, man does not own the earth, man belonged to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that binds us together. Man did not create the web of life he's simply a strand in it. What he does to the web he does to himself. Your destiny is a mystery to us. What will happen when all of the buffalo are slaughtered? What will happen when all of the secret corners of the forest are heavy with the scent of many men and the view of the ripe hills is blotted by talking wires? It's the end of living and the beginning of survival when the last red man and his wilderness are gone and their memory is only a cloud flying over the prairie. Will there be any memory of my people left? We love this land like a newborn loves its mother's heartbeat so if you buy our land, love it as we have loved it, care for it as we have cared for it. Hold in your mind the memory of the land when you receive it and preserve it for all children. Love the land the way God loves you because this we know there is only one God and no man be he red or white man can stand alone because we're brothers after all" - Chief Seattle, 1854

A weekend in the life...

This weekend had a little of this...a little of that...and a lot of planning for the future....

Friday was a little hectic with an emergency trip to the vet to get Chukar looked at for swallowing Maggie's bow...good news is the little guys spit it up before we got there...so a needless trip, but better safe than sorry.

Saturday started off with the Meyer house out of Coffee, Rich with a flat tire, Chukar with a flea and me off to the Northline Food Bank to volunteer for a few hours....it was CRAZY!

I was in charge of MEAT....
Next up was a road trip North to visit our favorite little man, Chase...aka Carlos with Heather and Amanda. We stayed, we played and enjoyed our trip to visit Erin.

Meanwhile, back in Bothell...Rich was busy painting our TV Room...Chukar was bored, obviously!!!
Taaaa-DAHHHH! The final project!
Looks amazing...can't wait to start on the kitchen. Crazy weekend...but it turned into the start of a great week!

Saturday was my Mom's birthday tea at Queen Mary Tea Room in the U-District...and we did it up in style! 10 ladies...hats...fancy tea sandwichs...whipped butter and FUN, FUN, FUN! Pretty sure I get BEST daugther of the YEAR for planning this one (and Dad for helping finance the fun)! Here we are...ready to go...so SNAZZY!
What good is a pre-party photoshop without the use of props...Cheers to Tea and a great day with the ladies!
We arrived and got to all pick out the tea of our choice (from about 75 choices)...and I think we all picked one as unique as each one of us. Colleen, Aunt Roxy, Nancy and Debbie are ready for a little tea and crumpets....

Next up....Lori, Jan and Micki!
Finally, Aunt Cindy, Me and the Birthday Girl!

Time to make a wish...of course, we all know what she is wishing for (GRANDBABIES)...and I think she wished for both Meyer and O'Malley babies in the next year! No pressure!

A group shot of all the ladies...Cindy, Me, Mama, Colleen, Roxy, Nancy, Debbie, Lori, Jan and Micki...such a PERFECT day with the ladies!

My mama is 55...holy cow!

On Wednesday, January 12th....my mom celebrated a milestone birthday....55! I wonder how old my kids will be when I'm 55? Probably just in college...or maybe celebrating a 21 run! Haha!

It was a great day and we got to spend some time together...lunch, cocktails and of course, Molly Moon for dessert....the fun has only just begin! Tomorrow we are doing an afternoon tea with the ladies...

Happy Birthday Mama!
I love you!

Make you love me...

he already does...but this song just melts my heart and helps me realize how lucky I am!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fnn9JlqqTE4

When the rain is blowing in your face

And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven’t made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I’ve known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong
courtesy of TopLyrics.Info
I’d go hungry, I’d go black and blue
I’d go crawling down the avenue
No, there’s nothing that I wouldn’t do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on the rolling sea
And on the highway of regret
Though winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain’t seen nothing like me yet

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn’t do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love

To make you feel my love
