Vantage, Tri-Cities, Pullman and Chukar!

This weekend...Rich and I packed up the car and Chukar and headed East...to visit family, play outside, go to Pullman, watch some basketball and just enjoy a weekend of R&R together.

MUST DESERVED...I might add!

Any weekend that starts on a Thursday and looking like this is PERFECT in my book!

We continued our journey East and went to dinner with Rich's (our) family! Here is Denise with her boys...Shawnee, Richee, Dickee, Chrisee and of course, the matriarch of the family, Denise.
Brianna and I were there too...but this was a special picture of the boys and Mom!
We hung out in Tri-Cities for the rest of the night...and then went further on to Pullman.

Friday night...when we arrived...we took Chukar for a tour of campus and showed him the ropes!

Saturday morning...we got up early and headed out on the town...

Next up we headed down to the Snake River...and played for HOURS outside!

We missed the rest of Saturday...but it involved, drinks, walks, food, a basketball game (GO DAWGS!), more drinks, more food, more walks and BED!

Sunday morning we headed out early...got some coffee and did one final walk around Pullman and then headed over to Potholes and other fun areas.

Chukar played a TON....and of course, this is how he drinks when we are out and about!

The fam had so much fun that Rich and I both came home with soar throats and Chukar threw up when we got home...guess we had so much fun that we puked!

I hope that everyone had an awesome weekend...because I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have spent such a great weekend with my boys!

Wednesdays have always been a great day in my book...any day that can be referred to as "hump" day is A-ok! All joking aside....I think that they have become Chukar's favorite too because he gets to go play with Gma and Gpa...and of course, Max!

Updated - Trials and Tribulations (from Rich)

February 21st:We haven't been doing much with the formal training lately, but with the weather we've been having, Chukar has been out and about more than ever. That being said, he has "unlearned" a few things that we had nailed in previous sessions, I attribute this to me slacking on the training...We hit the back yard for some basics. I threw on his collar and grabbed a short lead and off we went. Went through about a dozen iterations of sit/stay/come (vocal, hand signal and whistle for come). He really is picking up the stay command for the first time, I think it has something to do with his maturation, he's 4 months now.After that, I took off the lead and we played some fetch, which has turned into Chuk's favorite game. Of course, he isn't perfect, but I was really surprised at how he is using his nose and eyes to find the object after I throw it, he used to be all eyes. There were a couple of times I threw the dummy out of site and Chukar got really confused, but he would head out with his nose to the ground searching, come back to me and I would point him toward the dummy and he would run back out in that direction. He stuck with it and each time was able to locate the dummy without me walking up to it. The funny part is, we have never really gone through directional commands, but I think both of us are "learning" together and figuring it out.I am going to be heading to Pullman this weekend and we are going to stop off at Squaw Canyon Shooters and have him socialize with Allen's short-hairs and run the farm, it shall be fun. And by the way, Chukar is now 24 pounds, dude is a tank!

Fat Tuesday...

Fat Tuesday was not celebrated at our house at it was in years past....no beads, no lost shoes in Seattle, no Earthquakes the day...it was BETTER!

This year we celebrated Fat "Taco" Tuesday...with Tacos (or enchiladas), Taxes and Trims....yes, you heard me right!

We enjoyed great friends and had such a fun night!

Gosh...I'm so lucky to have such an amazing, loving and wonderful husband. He is the reason that I get up everyday...he is my best friend...my inspiration to be a better person...the future father of my children...the strongest man I know...

Somedays I just want to pinch myself because I don't know how I got so lucky!

A lesson learned...the hard way!

Rich has ALWAYS told me to "PUT MY SHOES AWAY"...but I'm a pack rat and like to leave them hidden all over the house....some under the desk, some in the garage, one at the back door, one at the front door, one in the office in a gym back, some in the back closet...the point being, I own 100's of shoes and I know where they all are...even if they aren't perfectly lined up in our closet.

Well....I learned a BIG lesson today the hard way. I was working from home...Chukar would not leave me along...I thought that he finally found a toy to distract him so I can work for a minute and then after few minutes I thought better of it....and this is what I found!

Tuesdays with Grandma (B)

Tuesdays have become a special day for my Mom and Chukar...she typically has every other Tuesday off and comes and plays with her Grand-dog. Of course, it's nice for Rich and I too because we come home to a worn out puppy and a clean house (I tell her she doesn't have to pick up, but she insists)!!!

The best part is I know my boy is being taken care of while I'm at work...and that he is loved (and of course, that my mom gets her happy endorphines)! Another fun part is the pictures she sends me and the funny captions...it just makes my day!
