Thursday, July 23rd - MONSOON!

Wow...then the rains came...we woke up to the sound of rain on Thursday morning and when I say rain, I mean MONSOON. The type that you experience in a shower....we were soaked by the time we got to our car...which was only 15 feet from our condo.
The rains were awesome...but then the flash floods were not. We went to Hanalei for coffee and minutes after we left to go back to higher land they closed the bridge because the river flooded. (The river outside the Hanalei Dolphin from Tuesday night).

We managed to get out for a bit and take some pictures...when there was a pause in the rain...but it rained for about 16 hours straight!
Hang loose...
The waterfalls down the mountain side were amazing...and gone days later when the rains subsided!
This is the little gecko that was smushed in our condo...Rich thinks I stepped on him.
We gave him a proper burial at sea and flushed him...
Since the rains weren't stopping...we decided to roll the "honeymoon" dice and see what they came up with.

Too funny! Of all the things they could have said...of course, we got eat!
So we made Homemade Pina Colada's....
...and Rich "cheffed" it up!
Delicious Ahi...
...and our fancy dinner on our patio!
It was great to have a day of relaxation!

Still more to come....

Wednesday, July 22nd - Adventure Day!

Wednesday morning started early....6:30 am we headed to Nawiliwili marina to meet up with our "Adventure" group and start the day!

Hang Loose Man...here are the Mr. and Mrs. outside the Kayak Shack...
...first stop that morning was a trip to the ABC store to get a "fancy" pair of sandals that we could Kayak, Hike, Swim and Zipline in....

Aren't they awesome...
they lasted about 3 trips and then we disposed of them in Kauai!
The Ring shot....yep, we rock like that!
First up, was a Kayak trip that lead to a hike...

Here is Rich was some White Ginger...so yummy!
A little bit of rain before our 1st rope swing...
Gary explaining it to us...and how to prepare for the 8-10 foot drop!
Game on...here I go!
Woo hoo!
The Mr. and Mrs. after successfully completing our 1st Rope Swing.
Next up was a tractor ride to the Ziplines and lunch...it was so awesome.
700 acres of land...beautiful!
Gary was awesome...a Navy Seal, Bodyguard for Elvis and my 2nd love after my husband!
No action shots here from Rich or I...but this is the 20-25 foot rope swing that I "crashed on my back" off of....NOT GOOD!

Here I am...in PAIN...after my fall.
Some crazy locals in the tree jumping from about 45 feet....ouch!
The beautiful waterfall and rope swing that after 1 jump...I decided to just sit and watch.
My injured back side...it was instantly red and then bruised by about 15 minutes after my crash. NO FUN!!!
Can I repeat...NO FUN!!!
After another tractor ride and little hike, we were back on the boat and headed back to home...it was a great day and about 8 hours of straight adventures. So much fun!
We headed back home and stopped at an awesome Mexican joint, Verde', for Burritos the size of small children and then crashed back at the condo.

It was awesome...

Stay tuned...I'm on a roll now!

Tuesday, July 21st - First FULL Day!

We started our 1st day in paradise off right at
The Wake-Up Cafe in Hanalei...
After our bellies were full...we continued on to the Napili Coast
(or the end of the line).

Here are the views along the way...
Pictures just can't describe how beautiful the coast line is....
...and from the other side you have the mountains!
Gorgeous!
We made it to the end (where the 11 mile hike starts)
...and found this AWESOME cave.
Here you can get how big it REALLY is.
Our 1st hen chicken that we saw...it was a novelty at this point
...until we had seen our first 500...wow!
Are they noisy or what?!?!
Later in the day we headed back to Princeville to do
a hike to Queen's Bath....
Here I am on the beginning of our way down.
Yep, that's me!
We got a beautiful view from the hike
...the ocean on minutes away.
...then a surprise waterfall.
It's amazing how many are on the island!
Rich with the waterfall
...it was a little one, but it was our 1st of the trip!
We made it to Queen's Bath...a swimming pool in the middle
of lava rock right on the side of the ocean.

AMAZING!
The view from Queen's Bath...
One of the pools that surrounded Queen's Bath
...but had the flux of the ocean in it.
We headed back home and went to Hanalei Dolphin for drinks and dinner....

Self-Portrait #1
We match...but didn't mean too!
After dinner...Rich with his Anchor!
Yeah...someone took our picture by the river that
ran right in front of the restaurant.
My husband...with the BIG fish!
Stay tuned for more of our adventures....

The Beginning - July 20th

Our Honeymoon started bittersweet....we got to get up and wish Rich's sister Becky a VERY Happy Birthday...but then we also had to say our good-byes!

It was awesome to have them here to visit to the wedding and we missed them as soon as they pulled away.

Before they left...we managed to surprise Becky with a Birthday Muffin with a candle!
Yes, we rock!

Here's Gabba Gabba, Becky and Rich...ready to blow out the birthday candle.
Next up...let the Honeymoon begin.

We started with lunch at Wally's in Des Moines prior to catching our plane.
Here's my husband!
...and then we had some drinks and slaw!
Next up...a manicure for me at the airport!
We flew and drank...and flew and drank....free Mai Tai's!
Come on, would you turn that down?!?!

Then....we arrived!
Welcome to Kauai...and our Honeymoon Paradise!
We got in to town late...ate a quick bite at the Tree Lounge at the Coconut Marketplace outside of Kapaa'...and then headed to check in and CRASH!

We were not only exhausted from the travels...but from the week of fun before!

Stay tuned for more honeymoon fun...

The Love Birds...

Mr. and Mrs. Meyer had a busy month of July...but the LOVE Birds are home from our Honeymoon and back to real life (tomorrow that is!)!!!

When we arrived home on Friday...my mom had come over and cooled it down, picked it up, stocked our fridge and even decorated! It was amazing to pull up and see our house with all the cute "JUST MARRIED" items. Rich's car was even decorated!

Here was what we pulled up too!

Plus, once we got inside...there were cute wedding things everywhere...including pictures from the wedding, our unity candles on our mantle and even our bedroom has rose petals on the bed. It was AMAZING...thanks so much MOM!
We had a busy weekend....Birthday/Welcome Home dinner with my parents on Friday night...then Seafair all weekend with friends. Of course, there is so many pictures from the Honeymoon to post...and I'm going to try to tackle that this week ...in a sort of "day by day" adventures post....I'm sure it will make sense when I do it!

For now...we are home and happy to continue our FOREVER TOGETHER! Many more posts to come...and even though the wedding is done, I hope that everyone stills wants to share in our life and our love!

It was sad to update the blog and take the details of the wedding down...but now it gives us, Mr. and Mrs. Meyer, more time to focus on our next adventure...

...finishing the patio!
...summer BBQ's!
...planning our next vacation!
...enjoying our family and friends!
...and, of course, enjoying being MARRIED!
