The Pack!

I didn't ever know if Chukar would be one of those "PACK-Dogs"...but our trip to Packwood proved that he would love to be more dog, more pack, more outside, more everything! He is a boys' boy in every sense of the word. He loves dirt! Loves Girls! Loves Bones! Loves, well, you know.....

Here he is at Alex's cabin...going to town on Sadie's (Jenn's dog) bone!Yep, really into it!
GROSS!
Rich got the up close shot...haha!
Besides the dog adventures...we had many outside.

Here is Chuk chasing his new girlfriend Sadie (the black lab that is running away from him)!
Sadie in all her glory!
Alex and Jenn playing on some logs...
You can't tell...but that is about 10 feet off the ground and over water...don't fall Alex!
Chuk found a new love samd/dirt...he loves digging holes and just rolling around!
Chukar asking/bowing down to Sadie...please be my girlfriend!
Wherever Sadie went...so did Chuk. When Jenn called Sadie, she got Chuk too!
Action shot! All 30.8 lbs!
Dad and Chuk...playing around.
The gang...walking along the river. A few years back before the floods....where we were walking was the river. Amazing how it changes...
I'm the Queen of the Root Tree!
And then my boys joined me...
I guess that Chuk was off to see Sadie...
Next up, Sadie, Alex and Jenn...
and of course, Chuk joined in too!
Yep, can't get rid of him!
Finally...just Alex, Jenn and Sadie!
I stole Chuk for the picture (and he pouted)!
Sunday morning we got up and went "shooting"!
The men in action!
The action shot!
Alex was up next...
then Jenn!
I even took a shot...or two and hit the target! Woo hoo!

As we were getting ready to leave...we spotted 4 Elk.
If you click on this picture...you can see how close!
Yep, Mr. Elk aka Spike!
What a fun, relaxing weekend...the Dawgs even won and are in the NCAA tournament...plus, today we went to Bill the Butcher's in Woodinville and got Chuk his very own bone! It's boiling right now!

So lucky to have such great friends to relax and enjoy the outdoors with! Thanks Alex and Jenn for an amazing weekend!!!

LET THE MADNESS BEGIN!!!

Riding Dirty!

Whenever in the car...he starts in his kennel...but after some moments (hours) in there, he gets restless. This is when I am a sucker and let him out to "Ride Dirty"!
(Ok, Kelby called me out on this...until he farts in my face and gases me out)!

Night out...Night in!

This weekend...Rich and I were lucky enough to drop Chukar off at Gma and Gpa's and head out for the night...we both had Bachelor/Bachelorette parties to attend...and didn't know when/if we would be home.

Chuk had some fun....and even relaxed a little!
R&R time!
Settling in for bed...
Looking out the window..."squirrel"
Yeah...the shades are open!
Chillin' with Gma!
More Cuddle time!
It was a great weekend...full of lots of change for all! Dad said yes, Mom said no more, and Rich and I said bring it on!
Can't wait to see what this week has in store for all of us!

Chuk's Quick from Dad's Perspective!

Wow, I had my first traumatic experience as a first-time puppy owner today. To give a bit of background, I recently quit my job, so I am at home with the pup all day as my wife is out at work. Well today was the third day of this arrangement and I decided to clip Chukar's nails. We do this about once a week, so no big deal...Until I am on the third or fourth toe and I hit a quick! Chukar gave out a yelp and blood starts gushing from the wound. Of course, we are in the TV room and all I see is my pup with a bloody foot and blood all over the carpet. I instantly grab him and run off to the bathroom. I set him down and blood is literally spewing all over the place. I strip down to my scibbies to avoid the blood trail and call my wife as I have no clue what to do. She instantly tells me not to worry and heads straight to the drug store for a styptic pencil. In the mean time, the blood has slowed and the bathroom looks like a murder scene. I sat on the toilet trying to console Chukar as he walked around the bathroom wondering what was going on. My wife arrived and the we attempted to apply the pencil, but it didn't seem to work...Eventually the wound closed up and we were able to clean up the bathroom. As it turned out, the wound opened up two more times as we monitored him the remainder of the day. The wound has been closed since 5pm this afternoon, hopefully it doesn't re-open.The incident has definitely made me more "gun-shy" when clipping nails...Next time I will attempt to be even more careful, I do not want to recreate today's experience ever again.
